September Newsletter 2017

Dear Friends & Prayer Warriors,

It was another busy month for One Way Ministries.  God is good!  The Lord allowed us to minister at our church, where Bro. David Sartin pastors, three Sundays in September but also allowed us to do three revivals in the same month.  Two of the revivals we started on Sunday evening so we didn't have to miss our Sunday morning worship at our home church, Kilmichael Baptist.

We began the month in revival on September 10–13 at Pine Forest Baptist Church near Stewart, MS.  Their pastor is Bro. Derek May.  Their music minister, Greg May, invited us to be a part of the revival this year.  The guest speaker for the week was Bro. Fletcher Moorman, former pastor of Carrollton Baptist Church.  This was our first opportunity to work with Bro. Fletcher.  He brought some very powerful messages.

The following week, September 17–20, we provided music for the Gore Springs Baptist Church revival.  They are currently without a pastor.  Their former pastor, Bro. Walter Simmons, passed away a few months ago after battling cancer.  Interestingly enough, Bro. Fletcher Moorman is filling in for them when he's not preaching somewhere else.  Bro. Fletcher is also a hospice chaplain.  After Bro. Walter passed away, their chairman of deacons, Lee Clark, contacted us to see if we were still planning on being a part of their revival.  We had a great time that week with the sweet folks there and with the guest speaker, Bro. Jonathan Peeples.  We have ministered at Bro. Jonathan's church numerous times but this was our first time to hear him preach and hope it's not our last.  He's a very gifted preacher.

September 24–27, we led the worship portion of the revival at Poplar Flat Baptist Church in Louisville, MS.  Poplar Flat Baptist is where Bro. Jonathan Peeples pastors.  The guest speaker for the weekly was Bro. David Hamilton from West Heights Baptist Church in Ponotoc, MS.  We have worked with Bro. David several times in the past and it's always a pleasure to be in ministry with him.

September was also a month of birthdays.  Caleb started us out with his 14th birthday on September 17.  My Dad celebrated his 80th birthday on the 21st.  We put together a surprise birthday party for him on the 30th.  All of his children, grand-children and great grand-children were all able to attend and several of his Mississippi friends were there as well.  We had such a great time reminiscing.  Also, Becky celebrated her birthday on the 22nd.  She's somewhere in her twenties.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Whether at our home church or on the road, it was always a joy to be able to sing God's praises and lift Him up through worship.  Please keep us in your prayers as we are winding down the revival season, and beginning Christmas cantata practice at Kilmichael Baptist Church. Thank you for your prayers and financial support to One Way Ministries.  We love you with the love of the Lord.
