November Newsletter

Dear Friends & Prayer Warriors,

We are so blessed!!!  I hope you counted your blessings this month as we celebrated Thanksgiving.  I know I did.  I am blessed to have a wife who loves me and stands by me no matter what.  I am blessed with four amazing children, whom I believe the Lord will continue use mightily.  I am also blessed to have the opportunity to take vacation with my wonderful family, which is just what we did in November.

We ministered two out of the four Sundays at our church.  The other two Sundays we were on vacation.  On November 6, we led a patriotic worship service at Kilmichael Baptist Church in honor of our veterans.  Our little Caris followed the Lord in believer's baptism that Sunday as well.  We are so proud of her.  We led more of a Thanksgiving service on the last Sunday of the month.

We left on November 12 and traveled to Kingsport, TN for the night.  Then we went to Williamsburg, Va and stayed there a full week.  While in Williamsburg, we went to Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement.  On Tuesday we visited with Bro. Jim and Mrs. Avis Lavender.  They fixed us an incredible lunch and we got to see some of their animals.  Bro. Jim used to be one of Barnum & Bailey’s former ring announcers.  He has several exotic animals that the kids had the opportunity to feed.  He just recently retired from the ministry after serving his church as pastor for 30 plus years.  On Sunday, we left for Germanton, North Carolina by way of the Blue Ridge Parkway and went to our friends, Bro. Jeff, Seleste, and Jarod Jeffers.  We were able to get into town just in time to go to their Sunday night service at Friendship Baptist Church.  We found out that even on vacation, we can still minister for the Lord.  We were asked by several of their members to sing a song for their evening worship service.  We stayed with them through Tuesday morning.  We went with them to Mount Airy, North Carolina where Andy Griffith was born.  We went to the Andy Griffith museum and ate lunch at Snappy's.  Tuesday we started our trek south and stopped at Biltmore Estates in Asheville, North Carolina.  Becky and I went there on our honeymoon almost 22 years ago.  Then we stopped on Tuesday night in Atlanta and stayed with our nephew and family - Jeremy, Sarah, Evelyn and Luke Harms and got to see our other nephew, Jared Harms.  Aubree was working so missed seeing her.  We had a wonderful vacation!!!

When we returned, we enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at Becky’s mom’s house.  On Saturday, we set up our Christmas tree.  It’s so hard to believe that Christmas is already here.  We pray that you will have a blessed Christmas season and a wonderful time with loved ones.  May the Lord continue to bless you.  Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to seek His face.

    In His Service,
    Steve & Becky Carver
