October Newsletter

Dear Friends & Prayer Warriors,

Wow! What an incredible month of ministry.  This was an October like no other we have seen in a long time.  The Lord kept us extremely busy with four revivals and a homecoming. God is so good!

We began the month in revival on October 2-5 at New Montpelier Baptist Church in Montpelier, MS.  For those of you who keep up with us, this is one of the two churches that have us for revival annually.  Bro. Jerry King is the pastor.  He invited Bro. Nick Holden back again this year to bring the messages.  The church is doing really well... so well, that they are breaking ground to build a new sanctuary.  We are so excited for them.  We had a wonderful time with Bro. Nick and Stephanie and Bro. Jerry and Priscilla and the sweet folks of Montpelier.

The following week, October 9-12, we led worship for the revival services at Good Hope Baptist Church near Louisville, MS.  Their pastor is Bro. Jason Gross.  Their youth minster, Bro. Dusty Coward, had the privilege of baptizing two of their youth in the church on Sunday night.  And the Lord continued to move that week with six more professions of faith Wednesday night.  The guest speaker was Bro. Ray Spence.  He did an outstanding job of presenting the message to us.

October 16 was the 125th anniversary homecoming of Kilmichael Baptist Church.  We enjoyed a two hour service with several people singing special music, a little bit of congregational worship and several speakers.  Following the service we enjoyed a time of fellowship and lunch.

Later that evening we began revival services at Providence Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS.  The revival began that Sunday evening and went through October 19.  This was probably our seventh or eighth revival at Providence over the years.  What made this one memorable was that it was the last revival that Bro. Randle Poss would invite us to.  He is retiring this year.  Bro. Randle has been pastoring at Providence for the last 18 years.  He is such a great man of God and well respected.  We wish him the very best.  Bro. Wade Stevens, pastor of First Baptist Church, Mathiston, brought the messages that week.

Our final revival was October 23-26 at Fair River Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS.  Their pastor is Bro. Jay Anderson.  Their kids and our kids really hit it off the last time we were there.  So they were all looking forward to spending some time with each other again.  Bro. Jay's daughter, Savannah, was baptized that Sunday morning.  That is always a great way to start out revival.  The guest evangelist for the week was our dear friend Bro. Randall Creel.  It was good to see him and his wife Brenda once again.  It was also good to see Fair River's music minister and his wife, Tim & Tammy Johnson.

We have no revivals scheduled for the month of November.  We are actually looking forward to sitting back and trying to recoup from such a busy month.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we minister at our home church.  We will be on the road a little bit in November but I will tell you more about that in November's newsletter.  May the Lord bless you all.
